Our program is a global not-for-profit for founders and entrepreneurs. We’ve been helping people like you here in London since 2011. Anupendra Sharma founded the program in Boston in 2006 and we’ve grown from a cohort of seven to a network of 2,500.
Joysy and Steven have been working together since Joysy founded SLP London in 2011. Andreas joined as CFO in 2014 and Wen joined the team in 2016 as Co-Program Lead.
So far we have supported, encouraged and celebrated nearly 150 entrepreneurs in the UK. Some fantastic examples of startups who’s founders have benefitted from SLP are Aneesh Varma, CEO and founder of Aire, Raj Dey MBE, founder of Learnably, Melissa Morris, Founder and CEO of Network Locum, Dr Jamie WIlson Founder HomePulse Systems.
Trustee and Program Lead
Steven is a successful entrepreneur, award winning strategist, creative thinker and experienced corporate leader in the global brand and marketing services industry. He has strong people skills, business acumen, investment ability and is proven to inspire and engage teams through rapid change. His has deep knowledge of consumer and media brands, digital technology, growth drivers, finance, digital technology, the investment and M&A process..
He co-founded growth advisory firm WhiteCap, has led global strategy for media and creative agencies on blue chip consumer businesses and local challenger brands. He was one of the founding teams’ at two agency startups, one creating a new business model, featured in Fast Company, the other a high growth, multi award winning business he sold to marketing services giant, Omnicom in 2006.
He led the creation of one of the first internal accelerators with the launch of article27, a $9mm venture funded online movie business launched at Cannes into the teeth of the dot com bust in 2000.
He was a ‘Face to Watch’ in advertising industry bible, Campaign, a jury foreman for D&AD the creative benchmark, at 28 one of the youngest Board Planning Directors in Leo Burnett’s history and co-wrote an award winning strategy for the launch of Xbox 360. He is an adviser and trustee to the Startup Leadership Program, is passionate about emerging technology and has been published and quoted on how the advertising business is evolving as a result of these changes. He was selected as one of one hundred senior leaders to participate in Omnicom’s four year Senior Management program with Harvard Business School and Babson College. He lives in London with his wife Katharine and three small sons, Finn, Jo and Kimball.
SLP London Founder & Trustee
Joysy is an entrepreneur and digital consultant. She is the former CIO of Ada, the National College for Digital Skills where she led the College’s industry engagement and online learning website. Prior to this, Joysy headed up international strategic development for EF Learning Labs, led business development for Emerge Venture Lab, Europe’s first education technology accelerator and advised Level39, technology incubator based in Canary Wharf.
Joysy is passionate about education, entrepreneurship and women’s empowerment. She helped launch three non-profits focused on education. She founded Founders Fit to help startup leaders find the right cofounders. Joysy has over a decade of experience in technology, business management, strategy and sales roles with JPMorgan and Morgan Stanley in Singapore, US and UK. She was the youngest person selected into the Future Leader Development Programme at JP Morgan Chase.
She holds a Computer Engineering (Honours) degree from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore and an MBA with Distinction from London Business School where she was the President of the Women in Business Club and a Forte Scholar.
SLP London Co-Program Lead
Wen holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering from Imperial College London and is a full-time post-doctoral researcher, specialising in advanced pharmaceutical manufacturing processes. During his first year of PhD, he co-founded the first group-buying website, We-connect, for university students in the UK. Since 2016, Wen has been the co-program lead for SLP London, managing the operation of the program.
