I ran the class on Managing Boards. We focused on:

Part 1

  1. Considerations for board makeup
  2. Relationship with entrepreneur
  3. Board makeup
  4. The role of the chairman
  5. The importance of having a defined entry/exit process to the board
  6. The interplay between shareholder agreement and board mechanics and practicalities
  7. Conflict resolution

Part 2

The class was also presented with two real life situations and asked to explore them like a board and take a vote to reach a conclusion. The decisions were compared with what happened in the real situation and discussed why they came to conclusion that they did.
